Join the Russell Street Artist Community
Our vision is to have a vibrant and active artist community working from the Russell Street Space. There are a number of ways you can get involved, depending on your practice and your space requirements.
Monthly Casual Membership
As a casual member, you can access the studio when it suit you for a fixed monthly fee.
Membership includes studio access, including potters wheels, slab roller, casting molds, tools and a shelf to store your work.
Access is available from 6:30am-10:00pm, 7 days per week, making this a great flexible option for part-time artists and those that need to work around life.
Our studio is available on a daily rate, for those who are not able to commit to a monthly membership.
The daily rate includes access to potters wheels, slab roller, casting molds, and tools. (Clay and other materials are additional).
Day Casual Access
Teaching Space
Our teaching space is available for once-off or ongoing hire.
The space features a large group table, sink, plus access to kitchen and toilet, and can comfortably fit up to 12 people. It is suitable for group classes or one on one tuition, in ceramics or other art forms.
If you are interested in hiring the teaching space, please contact us and speak to Sarah or Sonja about the options.
Glazing Work
Russell Street Studios has fully equipped glazing room. We offer the option of using our in-house glazes under supervision of an experienced ceramicist.
Access to the glazing room, plus all glazing equipment is provided in the glazing fee. The cost of the glazes used is additional.
You must supply your own protective equipment (P2 mask or respirator) to access our glazing services.
If you are interested in learning to mix your own glazes, please see our glazing class.
Resident Artists
Our Resident Artists are the core of our creative space. We are a diverse group of artists who support one another’s practice.
Resident artist places include a space, which you can set up as you desire, as well as access to all Russell Street’s facilities, and are great for artists who lack studio space at home or who enjoy working around others.
