About Russell Street Studios

Russell Street Studios is a privately owned studio space, and run by studio manager Sonja Brough. The building is steeped in history, having been used as a pottery studio since the 1980s. We are continuing on the tradition of providing a working artist studio in the heart of Launceston’s art precinct, with a specialisation in ceramics.

Sonja is a ceramicist with a passion for finding the balance between tradition and innovation. Sonja is an experienced teacher of ceramics and runs the Russell Street classes program.

Classes

Russell Street Studio’s classes are run by professional artists who know their stuff. We aim to give you a meaningful introduction to ceramics and offer an opportunity to extend your skills or practice in the areas that interest you. Our classes are relaxed and supportive and can meet you wherever you’re at in your ceramics endeavours.

Studio Access

Our vision is to have a vibrant and active artist community working from the Russell Street space. There are a number of ways you can get involved, depending on your practice and your space requirements.
